Something Like Philosophy
is an upcoming anthology-style book series about the privation, trauma, and horror of warfare throughout history.
It will bring together authors from a wide variety of academic, professional, and personal backgrounds to write on different topics within that central theme.

The series will aim to help readers draw connections throughout military history and better understand the nature of warfare. These will include the physical and mental hardships of campaigning, the material nature and horror of combat, the experience of loss, and the psychological impact of both suffering and committing atrocities, among a myriad other potential examples.

Volume I of this series will take readers from the American War of Independence to the Second World War.
